I Want To Break Free!

Simply put, you believe that things or people make you unhappy, but this is not accurate. You make yourself unhappy. ~Wayne W. Dyer

Co Dependency

Are you depending upon others for your happiness? If you think that other people will MAKE you happy, you will be forever disappointed. You are responsible for your own happiness.  Other people can and should add to that happiness, but they will never be able to make you happy, all of the time.

Have you ever had anyone try to cheer you up? Does it work?  Sometimes, but not usually, and even when it does, it only lasts for a moment or two and then you get right back to being in a bad or sad mood.

Have you ever bought something and got that rush of excitement? Like a new car or a new pair of shoes? What happens? You’re initially happy but then over time it’s back to the old self again, looking for the next latest and greatest pick me up to make you feel better, to fill that void. So if people or material things cannot sustain our happiness, then what will?

Break the Chains

You must have heard the phrase, “have an attitude of gratitude.” Being thankful for what you already have does wonders for your happiness. And forget material things, focus on things like your health, the super computer also known as your brain, your beating heart, your soul, the sunset or sunrise, flowers, trees, the ocean, your parents, your children or your friends, or even a fond memory.

These are the things that are irreplaceable and have the most value, and everyone has at least some of these things to be thankful for.

Isn’t It Time That You Broke Free?

We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.
~ Frederick Keonig

Independence Day

The definition of independence is:

Freedom from the control, influence, support, aid, or the like, of others.

Let this July 4th be your Independence Day! Make it the day that you shed your old self and create your new self. Stop blaming and start aiming. Whether it’s in your career, your relationships, your spiritual growth or your personal life, let your freedom ring!

Right now, you have the choice to either start creating the life you’ve imagined or complain and remain. You are not being held captive unless you give in or give up.  However, if you’re reading this from any type of jail, my apologies. But even in that extreme case, you still control your thoughts and attitude. Holocaust survivors are on record saying that controlling their thoughts towards the positive, controlled their environment and it has been directly linked to why they survived. Now, if you’re in the jail of your own mind, then it’s time for a jailbreak.

At Your Service

The odds are in your favor that you have everything at your disposal to create a better life. With the tools, technology and networking opportunities through social media and an unlimited amount of knowledge readily available to you literally at your fingertips, whether you can type or not, it’s all there. But the only thing that matters first and foremost is your attitude towards your success.

With a bad attitude, you’ll get bad results.  Good attitude = good results.

Think back to a time you thought “this will never work” and it didn’t.  Or a time you said “I can do this” and you did.  Coincidence?  No. You set an attitude in motion. You decided the outcome beforehand and therefore you acted accordingly and controlled it.

Your thoughts led to action and that action created the results.

What if we did this consciously?  What if we looked for the opportunity in the problem instead of the problem in the opportunity? Would we see things differently and then have different results?  Try it and see, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world. ~ Buddha

Don’t be Stranded

I’m not saying to become an island or insulate yourself away from people. When it comes to success you will have to rely on others for something, whether it’s Mr Bell’s phone or clients who buy your product or service, you cannot do it alone.

Also, you may be be stuck with certain people in your life but you’re not stuck with how you react to them. When your attitude changes for the better, your life changes and the people around you change, also for the better. Attitude is truly everything!

It isn’t what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.
~ Dale Carnegie

Think positive, follow your passion, trust your gut and taste freedom.

Oh, and don’t worry, be happy this 4th of July!!
